COMPANY HISTORY
From humble beginnings operating in a home workshop, Vehicle Adaptions Ltd has evolved to now offer a full range of specialist disability products and services. We are well known within the vehicle disability industry and take great pride in our workmanship and providing a high quality of service.
Our Story
Vehicle Adaptions was founded by Craig Gardner, who spent over 20 years building the business from the ground up in Christchurch. Around the time Craig was ready for a change, Freedom Mobility, our sister company that is a specialist importer of mobility vehicles for vehicle rentals, had been working closely with him for years. In fact, nearly half of Vehicle Adaptions' work was already tied to Freedom Mobility's clients, so when Craig decided to sell, it made sense for the two businesses to come together.
Since then, Vehicle Adaptions has grown from a one or two-person operation into a full team of engineers and specialists, all trained to carry forward the same knowledge, care and attention to detail that Craig built the business on. We're proud to still be based in Christchurch, where our workshop team designs, builds and certifies every modification in-house.

We believe good work starts with really listening. Every client's situation is different, and we take the time to understand not just what you need, but how you actually live, so the solution we build genuinely fits your life, not just your vehicle.
We're also a bit particular about culture. We grow and support our team and we're a family. That shows in the people you'll meet when you visit us, whether that's grabbing a coffee while you wait, or just having a laugh with the team in the workshop.

Vehicle Adaptions works closely alongside our sister company, Freedom Mobility, New Zealand's specialist mobility vehicle importer and mobility vehicle rental business. That relationship means our modification expertise is backed by decades of combined experience, getting the right vehicle, fitted the right way, for the right person.
